2008 was the centenary year for tethered hydroplane racing in Great Britain. To celebrate there was a national special regatta attended by almost all the main enthusiasts.
The Heaton Club has raced tethered hydroplanes for many years though it has always been a niche activity. A collection of photos from the regatta will be displayed in our website gallery. Over the weekend of the 7th and 8th of July 2008 the club held regattas to raise funds for the RNLI. The sum of 252.75 pounds was collected and we are gratefull for the support of the general public without whom it would not have been possible. |
